Edgy fashion and groundbreaking art come together for charity with “atelier incurve exhibition in tokyo 2010”. Avant-garde Japanese designers such as Undercover, sacai luck and HYSTERIC GLAMOUR have teamed up with the intellectually-impaired artists of Atelier Incurve to form the art exhibition. The result? A unique series of t-shirt series featuring the work of the Atelier’s self-taught artists. Tokyo is always bursting with new ideas and exciting happenings, and here’s the latest one: “atelier incurve exhibition in tokyo 2010″, opening on November, 29th until December 12th 2010. Noted Japanese stylist Tsuyoshi Noguchi selected eight leading fashion brands such as HYSTERIC GLAMOUR, kolor, sacai luck, and UNDERCOVER to create a special collection of limited edition T-shirts, using illustrations by the Atelier’s artists as inspiration for their designs.
Beyond showcasing these artists’ admirable work, the message behind the exhibition is all about providing and bringing people together. While the initiative counts many active supporters, the main man and voice behind the project is Japanese art director Koji Ono. His passion for these works and sheer determination in gathering support has been the driving force behind the exhibition, and his main message makes it all the more obvious that fame and glory have nothing to do with it: ‘Sometimes even by losing together, or by yielding, we may become closely united and connect with more people’.
yoox.com is one of the believers in this message and therefore is the natural online platform for the sale of the limited edition t-shirts, from which proceeds will be donated to 27 artists of atelier incurve, alongside any other funds raised from the exhibition.
